Excellence Personified: Mercedes Benz AMG GLE 63 S

The AMG GLE 63 S has a top speed of 155 miles per hour and can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 4.8 seconds, making it one of the fastest SUVs on the market. No wonder it is the envy of luxury car owners everywhere, and Mr. Nigel Pigott of Antigua is no exception.

Having asked why Mercedes was his brand of choice he explained “Truth be told I was not originally partial to any of the available brands. I will only consider a brand attached to a dealer on the island, so the main options at that level are BMW and Mercedes. I had no preference, but the Mercedes dealer was more aggressive and made the effort to put me into the 63. The 63 came out of the UK and was supplied by https://www.grange.co.uk because the local dealer could only secure a 43 or 53 but not the AMG GLE 63 S.”

What was his inspiration behind the 63 S purchase you might ask, well Nigel stated “I had a GLC and the GLE 43 for a couple of years and enjoyed owning them, so I wanted to stay Mercedes. The 63 made perfect sense as it was similar to the 43 but at the top of the range.

Both powerful and comfortable, the Mercedes GLE 63 S is perfect for anyone looking to add a luxury vehicle to their personal car collection. It offers a smooth and quiet ride, an upscale interior with top of the line features, and a wealth of safety features that make it one of the safest vehicles on the road. It also has a variety of driver assisted features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and blind spot monitoring.

As with any luxury brand, the maintenance aspect is always of utmost importance. “No challenges as yet.” states Pigott after being asked about any maintenance challenges thus far. “The vehicle is still under warranty, and the local dealer Harney Motors ltd. has agreed to service and maintain the GLE even though they didn’t supply it.” stated Nigel. Now that’s customer service for you!

The GLE 63S Coupe comes with 603bhp, standard in the UK. British buyers will therefore be able to experience a 0-62mph time of 3.8sec and a top speed of 174 mph. “Some ask, I have shown a few but sometimes it’s better to just keep things simple and calm.” stated Nigel when asked if he ever shows the power potential of the GLE.

Stepping to the line with a BMW X6M is something we would definitely want to see this GLE 63 S do! Rumor has it an X6M may have an advantage of sorts, but who really knows?

We know the Caribbean isn’t far removed from the luxury car arena, as we have almost everything the US & Uk markets has to offer.

But seeing the island of Antigua is a mere 108 sq. miles, we were intrigued to know what it was like owning the merc on the island. “…because of the power band it really could use some more road, but it’s like owning any other vehicle I’ve had. You adjust.” stated Nigel.
